UNESCO Stevns Klint Walk

A total 15 kms walk starting from Holtug Kridtbrud along the white and winding cliff edge is simply stunning! Passing bird watching tower, buildings from the Cold War, lighthouse and Stevns Experience, Boesdal Kalkbrud (old limestone quarry) while turquoise seawater accompanies you all the way.

After 9 kms walk we take a break and enjoy a delicious Danish lunch buffet in a local restaurant near the path in Hojerup.

The walk continues in the path along the cliff edge to Rodvig havn, a little harbour with cozy atmosphere. Here you can enjoy an ice cream and soak in the sea breeze before we return to Copenhagen. The path is not hilly, suitable for seniors and family with children. The pace is normal walking speed.   

Stevns Klint was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014. It is the best place in the world to see the thin layer of clay with traces of the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and more than half of all species on Earth 66 million years ago. It is a violent story, but the extinction of the dinosaurs also made room for life to develop into the life we ​​know today. For us mammals, the asteroid’s impact was a bit of a stroke of luck.

10.00 walk starts at Holtug Kridtbrud

12.30 Danish lunch buffet in Hojerup (extra purchase) or enjoy own lunch box.

13.30 Walk continues

15.00 End of the walk in Rodvig havn

16.30 Return to Copenhagen at meeting point.
