Step into Denmark’s rugged coastline and uncover one of nature’s finest treasures — wild oysters and blue mussels thriving in the cold, clean waters of the Isefjord, Northwest Zealand, about 1 hour drive from Copenhagen.

From October to March, when the sea is crisp and clear, the shellfish are at their very best — full of flavor and freshness. This is the perfect time to experience foraging.

Guided by an experienced forager, you’ll explore the shallow tidal flats and learn how to safely and sustainably collect these ocean delicacies. As you walk through the shallows with the sea breeze on your face, you’ll feel the quiet beauty of Denmark’s coast come alive.

From Sea to Fire: A Coastal Feast

We will foraging about 1 hour, with our buckets full, we’ll return to shore to create an unforgettable open campfire meal.

• Starters: Your freshly gathered oysters and mussels, cooked gently over a crackling campfire — simply prepared to highlight their natural briny sweetness.
• Main Course: A warm, hearty dish prepared in the heart of nature, shared with new friends and paired with stories, laughter, and the sound of the waves.

Practical Details

Location: Isefjord, near town 4050 Vellerup/Skibby, Northwest Zealand, about 1 hour drive from Copenhagen. Exact meeting point will be sent upon booking. Hotel pick-up from Copenhagen or elsewhere is possible, please contact us for a quote.
Season: October to March – when the water is cold, and shellfish are at their most flavorful
Duration: Approximately 4 hours
Difficulty: Easy – suitable for beginners and nature lovers.
Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing, waders/high rubber boots, and your adventurous spirit. Rental of waders (waterproof pants attached to rubber boots) and gloves available.

Price: DKK 740/adult, DKK500/child (age 6-15).

Rental: waders and gloves DKK 100/per set. Sizes available: 38 / 40 / 45.

In case of heavy rain or strong wind on the day, the tour will be cancelled with full refund.
