Deer Park & Hermitage Palace Walk

1 Day

Escape the bustle of the city and embrace the magic of the season with a scenic 5,2 km guided walk through Jaegersborg Dyrehaven, Copenhagen’s famous Deer Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander along peaceful forest trails and open meadows where over 2,000 free-roaming deer grazes gracefully —a breathtaking sight!

Hear the fascinating stories of the park dating back to year 1669, about the Kings and how parforce hunting shaped the design and landscapes of the park.

At the heart of the park, marvel at the stunning Hermitage Palace, the King’s 18th-century hunting lodge perched elegantly atop the hill. Its stately charm and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. We will also be passing through the dramatic hills of Ulvedalene, created during the ice age as a tunnel valley. The 43-meter hill “Djaevlebakke” creates a magical theatre backdrop for open-air theatre since 1910 where the Royal Danish Theatre staged the first performance in the scenic surroundings. Equally famous in the park is the 800 years old oak tree knowns as the Ulvedalsegen.

Before the walk starts, you may settle in for a lunch or after the walk enjoy a dinner at a charming local restaurant. Please contact us if you like to have our restaurant recommendation and help on table reservation.
